What to Expect

Starting therapy can feel unfamiliar, especially if it’s your first time reaching out for support. At All Round Wellness, we aim to create a space where you feel comfortable, respected, and heard from the very beginning.

Your first session

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know you, understand what has brought you here, and explore what support may look like moving forward.

Together, we may discuss:

  • Your current concerns or challenges

  • Important life experiences or relationships

  • Goals for therapy or support

  • What you hope to gain from the process

  • Any questions or uncertainties you may have

There is no pressure to share everything immediately. Therapy is a process built on safety, trust, and connection, and we move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Preparing for Your Appointment

There is no “right” way to prepare for therapy, however some clients find it helpful to:

  • Book appointments ahead of time for consistency

  • Write down thoughts, questions, or topics they would like to discuss

  • Allow themselves time to reflect after sessions

  • Bring a notebook or journal if they enjoy recording insights

At times, your therapist may gently encourage reflection or small practices between sessions to help support ongoing progress in everyday life

Fees, Rebates & Accessibility

We believe mental health support should feel approachable and accessible wherever possible.

Medicare

If you have been referred by your GP under a Mental Health Care pan, you may be eligible to receive Medicare Rebates for sessions with one of our Medicare-registered therapists, for up to 10 sessions per calendar year.

DVA

Clients with a valid DVA card are welcome to access sessions with our Medicare-registered clinicians with an appropriate GP referral.

Private Appointments

You are welcome to book appointments without a referral. Private fees may vary depending on the clinician and appointment type.

Telehealth

We understand that flexibility and comfort are important when accessing support. Telehealth appointments allow you to connect with your therapist from the comfort and privacy of your own space.

Telehealth sessions are conducted securely via video call and offer the same professional, supportive, and confidential care as in-person appointments.

Many clients find telehealth particularly helpful for:

  • Rural or remote access to support

  • Feeling more comfortable in a familiar environment

To help your session run smoothly, we recommend:

  • Finding a quiet and private space where possible

  • Using headphones if helpful for privacy

  • Ensuring your device is charged and connected to stable internet

  • Allowing yourself a few minutes before the session to settle in

If you are unsure whether telehealth is the right fit for you, our team is happy to discuss available options and help determine what feels most supportive for your circumstances.

Workplace & Supported Services

We may also support clients accessing services through Work Cover, workers compensation claims, approved workplace supports, or Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), depending on eligibility and approval requirements.

If you are unsure what pathway may apply to you, our team is happy to help guide you through the process.

Appointment Payments & Cancellation Policy

To help us provide consistent care and manage appointment availability fairly for all clients, we kindly ask that:

  • New clients pay a 50% deposit either upfront or within 3 days of booking their appointment

  • At least 48 hours’ notice is provided for cancellations or appointment changes

  • Late cancellations or missed appointments may incur a fee

If unexpected circumstances arise, please contact our team as early as possible.

A Safe, confidential space

We are committed to providing care that feels safe, respectful, and supportive.

All sessions are conducted in line with professional and ethical guidelines, and your privacy and confidentiality are always taken seriously.

Many people feel nervous before their first appointment. This is completely normal. Our role is not to judge or “fix” you, but to understand your experiences and support you in a way that feels meaningful and sustainable

Bringing humanity back to therapy.
